End of Summer in Sweden

Time: 15:45 CEST
Pos: Fjärdhundra, Sweden

The summer is almost coming to an end in Sweden, or at least that’s what it feels like in one way. People are back at work, kids are back in school and Andy is coming home tomorrow from Iceland. For us, it was a bit of a different summer, I left Sweden back in April for Las Palmas and a spring on FALKEN, when we still had snow on the ground. After a sweet Trans-Atlantic (despite the light winds and the torn spinnaker), and a great passage from Antigua to Bermuda, we spent the month of June in Annapolis, and from there Andy took off for his summer onboard.

Greenland has always been a dream for the two of us, it was a bit bittersweet that I was not onboard for the passage but this summer was not the time to bring the family along! One day I am excited to sail there on SPICA or even FALKEN and share the beauty of the places that only a boat can take you to with Axel.

I am sure you all have great memories from the water this summer, and hopefully some fun adventures coming up this fall. FALKEN and ISBJORN will continue to sail. In fact, crew will arrive to FALKEN today for our 2nd ever ALL WOMEN PASSAGE, and ISBJORN is soon to end her passage back in Bergen, while Andy and I will have some well deserved vacation together at home with Axel!
