Synopsis

Homeward bound! A proper Viking ocean crossing, starting in the town of Torshavn, Faroe Islands and ending in ISBJØRN’s home port of Bergen, Norway. On this passage, we will cross the North Sea sailing past some real gems on the way across. Shetland, Fair Isle and the Orkney Islands are all possible stopovers. These islands are all truly magical places, and will also be giving us good options when planning our crossing and managing weather windows. If you want to earn your 59º North Puffin Patrol Patch, this will be the best passage for you!

We are most likely to get following winds for the majority of the crossing, but everything is in the cards here. The temperature will be quite cold, so bring warm clothes!

Tentative Itinerary

• May 23: Join ISBJØRN in Torshavn, Faroe Islands at 13:00. Dinner with the group ashore or onboard.

• May 24: All-day safety briefing & boat orientation

• May 25: Departure! (Weather dependent)

• June 1: Disembark ISBJØRN in Bergen, Norway by 12:00 Noon

Travel Logistics

• Fly into the Faroe Islands airport (FAE). There are direct flights from various mainland European cities.

• Fly directly out of Bergen, Norway (BGO) or take the train to Oslo (OSL) for international outbound flights.

How to Join

To register, complete the Offshore Passage Registration by clicking the 'Sign Up' button above, or at the bottom of the page. You'll be asked to complete the form - make sure you hit submit. Indicate '2024: Faroe Islands – Bergen' as your preferred passage. 

Once we receive your registration, you'll be sent an invoice for 50% of the balance, due immediately. The final 50% of the balance will be due 60 days prior to the passage date. Terms and conditions are in the registration form, and you'll be asked to agree to them before submitting your deposit. Please read them carefully.
