#330: Megan Frey // Ocean's Dream Part 1 (featuring Brittney Mauer)

#330. Megan Frye has spent the last 10 years at sea, sailing traditionally rigged vessels all over the world. She is pursuing her dream of connecting people from around the world through sailing with Ocean's Dream. Emma got to sit down with Megan for a short chat while they were both in Maine, where Megan is spending the summer running a charter sailboat. This is just part one of our conversations with Megan, who has learned many lessons from her travels, and is looking to spread the wisdom of the high seas with others.

Emma and Megan were also joined by Brittney Mauer, who is a lover of the wilderness and a professional sailor. She will be joining ICEBEAR around the world in the 2023 OGR. The three talked about fundraising and pursuing big dreams.

You can find out more about Ocean's Dream and support Megan at https://www.oceansdream.org/

If you would like to contact either sailor about their project, email Emma and we will connect you.

Our first experience with Edson was when we retrofitted a tiller onto ARCTURUS before our first trans-Atlantic, ten years ago now. Edson supplied a custom machined rudder-post extension and cast bronze tiller head, which is still on ARCTURUS under her new owner today.

Steering on offshore boats is a ‘mission critical’ system and whether it’s tiller hardware, binnacle steering, replacement chain, cables & sheaves or even basic steering maintenance, Edson has you covered.
